We Are Team Tracy – The Warrior in Me
Thanks for visiting this page. I was born and raised in Alton, IL, and had a successful career as an athletic trainer/exercise physiologist. One year ago I was given my diagnosis with ALS and am fighting to recover. It is possible to recover from ALS, however, insurance does not cover the cost of treatment. I appreciate any and all donations and prayers. Grab your boots and flannel and I’ll see you at the Alton Moose Lodge on January 21, 2023, at 6:30 p.m.

Asking for Your Support
Dear Friends,
We are asking for your support for those afflicted with ALS. This neurodegenerative disease causes motor neurons to lose their ability to function. In the past, it was thought to be a death sentence, but recently there have been hundreds of reversals for individuals who have shown determination and a positive mindset. (HealingALS.org; Dr. Richard Bedlack, MD-Duke University Department of Neurology). ALS affects about 5,000 people each year in the US, 90% with no familial inherited ALS genes. The disease receives limited attention and therefore funding for research to cure the disease is also limited. That, however, doesn’t change the fact that the out-of-pocket cost for a family caring for someone with ALS is estimated to be over $250,000 yearly.
I belong to a small, but mighty group of women who have a dear friend, Tracy Bogard, who recently was diagnosed with this terrible disease. We are witnessing the toll ALS is taking emotionally and physically on our friend’s body and the emotional and financial toll it is taking on her elderly mother who is caring for her daily. We feel that Tracy has the determination and positive mindset to reverse her diagnosis.
Tracy Bogard is a vibrant and vivacious woman who has given so much to this community – as an active member of P.E.O., an organization that raises money to support women with grants, loans, and scholarships to further their education. She has also been the fundraising chair for the Riverbender Teen Center. She has provided more volunteer hours to our community than most. Tracy’s goal in life has always been “to make a difference”.
Tracy and her mother Ellen need your help. They do not have the money required to provide Tracy with the equipment, machines, medicines, and treatments that she needs to courageously fight this fight. Our small group wants to provide the opportunity for Tracy to live out her life goal “to make a difference”.
To help make a difference for Tracy and others afflicted with this disease, would you please team up with us? We are having a fundraiser on January 21, 2023, at the Alton Moose Lodge #951. We would be most grateful if you would consider donating to this cause. Your donation will be used to provide medical equipment and treatment for Tracy and to support the organization Healing ALS.
All monetary donations can be made through this Venmo link: @Tracy-BogardALSWarrior. Thank you in advance for being a warrior for Tracy and others in their fight to recover from ALS.
Respectfully,
Team Tracy – The Warrior in Me
